			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: left;" align="center">Taking action to grow your practice can be a scary and frustrating decision.  A million questions (Where do I start?  Which way is best?  Is this a good idea?) and excuses (My spouse won&#8217;t want me working so much and they&#8217;ll criticize my ideas) will start to pop up.  Sure, go ahead and listen to them all if you don&#8217;t want to do anything about your practice problems.  Yes, make not knowing which way to go your &#8220;Why I Can&#8217;t Succeed&#8221; story.  You&#8217;re in a mess, maybe you&#8217;re making decent money, but you know you&#8217;re in a mess and should be finding a way out.</p>
<p align="center"><strong><em>It’s not your fault, but it is your responsibility to get out of your mess!<br />
</em></strong></p>
<p>There you are with a great spouse, kids, a house, and yet you are frustrated, angry and feel like quitting.  You are in the paralyzing grips of <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">not performing up to your expectations.</span></strong>  The debt is mounting and your practice is stagnant; or worse yet…in a slow steady decline.</p>
<h1>You get some new patients from the web, some marketing, some ads and…<strong><em><br />
</em></strong></h1>
<p>You only get a temporary increase in your stats, followed by the predictable bottoming out the following month.  Your overhead is rising and your net profits are shrinking.  You keep getting pulled into additional ways of producing income from weight loss to teeth whitening.  You didn’t go to school to help people lose weight.  You went to save lives and help people with Chiropractic- including children.  This miracle profession has turned into merely a job.  What have you got yourself into?</p>
<h1>Without an upgrade of your communication skills, practice will continue to be difficult<strong><em><br />
</em></strong></h1>
<p>Demanding patients, less and less third party reimbursement, paperwork, staffing issues, CA drama, and patients just not getting it are just some of the problems of faulty communication skills.  It’s not how you practice Chiropractic…it&#8217;s your <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>delivery of Chiropractic</strong></span>.  You are not currently communicating in a language that your people speak.  This does not get better with time.  Some things to remember:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">You are not their friend</span></strong>  You were not trained in Chiropractic school to be a leader. Unfortunately, you&#8217;re taught to give people what they want and everything will be okay.  &#8220;You’ll be my friend.&#8221;  With this as your mantra, people will walk all over you.  Ever try to have friends as patients? Your drinking buddies will not see you as a leader, nor will they take you seriously. You get the idea.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">You can’t ride the horse until you have a relationship with it</span></strong>  Try to ride a horse without a relationship and you will get the behavior you deserve…kicking, biting and bucking.  Trying to give people what they (symptomatic relief with no patient education) want without a relationship, including boundaries, is just as futile.  When you ask for commitment from people without a relationship, they will kick, bite or buck you.  Commitment is money, bringing kids in, and following your recommendations.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Spouses don’t mean to…but they put pressure on you</span></strong>  Most spouses see Chiropractic as just a job&#8230;nothing more and nothing less.  &#8220;Why can’t you shut up about Chiropractic,&#8221; they ask?  &#8220;It’s none of your business what parents do to their children.&#8221;  Problem is: we care.  It’s not just a job…it’s a vision that burns deep inside of us.  When our spouses don’t understand this, it puts more pressure on us, our relationships and our office.  And if your office is not performing the way it should…it makes it look like our spouse may be right.  This is exactly the time when many accept low levels of achievement and lower their expectations.  <strong><em>This dynamic is one of the most overlooked and fundamental in our profession.  </em></strong>Continue to do nothing and it could cost you your marriage, hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost income and a lost dream.</li>

<p>We received an email the other day from a TNR DC who had been invited by a former colleague to stop &#8216;fooling around with Chiropractic&#8217; so she could finally make a living. The TNR DC was not only appalled because she is very successful as a subluxation-based Chiropractor, but also saddened that her former DC friend, turned &#8216;laser beam therapist&#8217; &#8211; was caught in a lie.<img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-1512" title="" src="http://coachingforchiropractors.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/423015_244144905660430_100001947680258_551670_1021207735_n-224x300.jpg" alt="" width="180" height="242" /></p>
<p>I&#8217;m sure you know many DC&#8217;s who have that preconceived notion that &#8216;there&#8217;s no money in Chiropractic&#8217;. You maybe trapped into this belief yourself because times have been tough.  We&#8217;re here to tell you that &#8211; IT&#8217;S A LIE!!! You can be successful as a Chiropractor and much much more so than being a &#8216;therapist&#8217;, a &#8216;weight loss laser beam specialist&#8217;, or anything that does NOT involve correcting subluxations.</p>
<p>Isn&#8217;t that what you went to school for? Didn&#8217;t you want to make a difference in people&#8217;s lives? If you wanted to be a weight-loss laser beam therapist, you could have just stuck with taking classes online or the community college.  But you didn&#8217;t.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s a big fat MYTH that you can&#8217;t be successful TELLING THE TRUTH about CHIROPRACTIC.  If you were at this last seminar in Detroit, you heard Dr. Billy DeMoss and you know just what we&#8217;re talking about.  If not, mark April 14th on your calendar.  Enough of this watering down Chiropractic, this insane shame we feel by wanting to see whole families instead of a grump with a backache&#8230;it starts today.  Your journey starts today.  You can change the world and be successful, TNR is comprised living proof.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We&#8217;ve been sending out a series of emails to DC&#8217;s all across the country (Not on it?? Go <a href="http://coachingforchiropractors.com/freebook/">here</a> and enter your info at the bottom!) about the top reasons DC&#8217;s fail.  In our years of experience, not only as coaches, but also as DC&#8217;s, we know this top 5 inside and out.  However, we also know how to overcome each of them and how to succeed.</p>
<p>We&#8217;ve noticed more people have been opening these emails than any other subject matter we&#8217;ve ever sent out in the past.  Thus, proving that people would rather move away from pain, rather than toward pleasure.  Nobody seems to care when we tell them &#8220;Double your practice!&#8221; or &#8220;Improve your life!&#8221;  They want to see the 5 reasons DC&#8217;s fail&#8230;to make sure they&#8217;re not doing any of them&#8230;which they probably are.</p>
<p>The crazy thing is: they&#8217;ll read the email, realize they&#8217;re doing at least 1 of the 5 (if not all of them), but <strong><em>still not do anything about it</em></strong>.  Help is literally right in front of them, just a simple phone call away, but they refuse to ask for it.</p>
<p>Where did we learn this mantra that you have to be self-sufficient and asking for help is a sign of weakness?  Growing up you had teachers and coaches who helped you along, but the second you&#8217;re an adult it&#8217;s uncool and supposedly a waste of your time.</p>
<p>And that, my friends, is a huge reason many people fail to reach their potential.</p>
<p>That mindset is a killer, and we&#8217;ve all fallen victim to it at some point in our lives and careers.  Just ask for help.  No matter what it is.  If you don&#8217;t trust anyone, it&#8217;s a reflection of your trust level with yourself.  Are you constantly afraid you&#8217;ll let yourself down?  Let your family down?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Just the other day we got an email from Dr. Terry Rondberg that said excitedly, “Be on a conference call with me at 3:00pm EST for some exciting news.” Terry started in on the call with the energy of a person who just drank three Grande Cappuccino’s with a side shot of Mountain Dew. If you don’t get what I mean, I think he blew our ear drums out because he was so excited. He went on to say, “You have to see the final website for I.O.M. (Integrative Outcome Measurements).” This is the vehicle that measures the levels of Physical, Mental and Social Wellbeing of individuals, the same vehicle we use in our practice and that we will be using extensively with our world project, Love Has No Color.  Terry went on to say that the webpage is so user friendly, easy to navigate and that we need to get the info out to our TNR members right away.</p>
<p>As Dr. Pallis and I listened, I was thinking, “You bet we have to get this information out to our members because my office has attracted many new patients with the old website!” As we were on the call, I was navigating through the website (shhhh don’t tell Dr. Kevin, he hates that crap while you’re on a call with him haha) with the greatest of ease. Your office gets notification that the person filled out the survey, so you can have your office contact them and set up a free appointment to review the results.  This way, the patient will have a full understanding of what the report means and what they can do to increase their wellness score. This is where you come in, doctor. Picture this: the perspective patient enters your office and is greeted by your wonderful staff and then ushered back to the consultation room to review their results. The patient sees the quality of your office and they get to meet you, the doctor, personally. You go over everything in detail and then give them the opportunity to become a new patient and experience Chiropractic, as it will be the main tool to help enhance that wellness score. It’s obvious what is going to happen…the perspective patient will sign up right on the spot and you will be off to the races with another Chiropractic wellness warrior in the community. This is just one of many great ideas of how you can use IOM as a great practice building tool, as well as a clinical tool to gather more objective data about an individual’s health.</p>
