Right from the Reservation: A Letter of Thankful Holiday Spirit
Over the years, it’s brought me great happiness having TNR involved in my life!! This coming summer I’m thinking it will be 8 or 9 years that they’ve been a part of my life. I grew up on the Fort Peck Reservation, and I met Dr. Ed and Dr. Kevin when I was in 6th grade, and let me tell you it has been an honor. Every year they have came out, it’s been better and better! The kids are able to have the time of their lives at the Kids Day we do in mid-August now. The two days that the group is in Montana are my two happiest days of the year. The Kids Day is so great. You see so many kids that have smiles on their faces, playing games, racing, getting their faces painted, taking turns in the dunk tank, and more. These two days you have to just be there to see for yourself!
December is also becoming my favorite time of the whole year because of Christmas on the Reservation. Seeing so many smiles, some tears, joyful faces with presents, and playing with all the toys; It’s a feeling I still cannot describe after all these years! A lot of the kids on the reservation don’t get presents for Christmas or few may just get one at home. The presents donated, bought by, sent from patients, employees, and the Chiropractors themselves means the World. And the Chiropractors and other doctors who come are wonderful.
The New Renaissance is full of kind hearted and amazing men and women. I wish everyone could be fortunate enough like me to be so close with them.
Dr Kevin and Dr Ed have changed my life by inspiring me to be so much bigger than I ever thought I could be. I was 12 years old when I met the both of them, and now I’m 21 and still involved with the group. Every time they’ve come back to the reservation, I’m right there helping. I CAN’T WAIT FOR DECEMBER 5th to share the Love again!! Lots of presents to give out, I hope.
It never seems to change when my TNR family has to leave. I always break down to tears. You’d think it would be easy after this long, but not when you have people who mean so much to you leave you for some time again. Everyone in the TNR group is amazing and are definitely my second family.
